Immigrant Support and Awareness (UTISA) (UTISA)

University of Toronto Immigrant Support & Awareness (UTISA) exists to provide practical and social support to newly landed immigrants in the Greater Toronto Area. Many newcomers to Canada face the challenges of unemployment, language barrier, cultural shock, and lack social networks. To help addressing these challenges, UTISA, in collaboration with local not-for-profit organizations, offers services such as one-on-one English tutoring, group conversation circles, resume workshops, social service access seminars, and social and sightseeing events to new immigrants free of charge. UTISA brings together student volunteers from all disciplines and cultural backgrounds for a common cause that is at the heart of Canadian society.
